THE STREET BUILD EVO 3

Proton Wira 4G92T

This Proton Wira began life as a 1.6-litre car powered by Mitsubishi's 4G92 single-overhead-cam engine. Rather than follow the more familiar route of a 4G63 engine swap or a complete Evolution drivetrain conversion, the original SOHC platform became the foundation for the project.

The aim was never just a peak dyno figure. Engine internals, turbocharging, fueling, cooling, transmission, chassis and cabin details were developed as one complete package. Each part needed to support a usable, responsive street car.

At its core is a forged and balanced 4G92, a worked SOHC cylinder head and a GReddy F55V turbo system. The finished combination exceeds 300 wheel horsepower while retaining the engine architecture that makes this Wira distinct.

Even at 1.12 bar, the car delivers substantial usable performance on the street. The 1.71 bar

setting reveals the full capability of the forged SOHC setup, with 307.78 wheel horsepower

recorded on the dyno.

The objective was never to turn the Wira into an Evo. The aim was to see how far the original 4G92

SOHC could be developed while keeping the identity of the car intact

So why do you need an EVO ? From the owner himself , he want his grandson to live a life like him , exploring the car culture with his timeless machine .
